After hanging in the beach towns of Huntington and Laguna Beach it was time to get back to the city. We drove up the Pacific Coast Highway through Santa Monica to Beverly Hills.
As we got closer, traffic seemed to be moving at a snail’s pace.
And then we realized why:
So, we had escaped DC and quick on our tail was the President, and his motorcade. We continued towards our hotel, the Beverly Hilton and realized, there are a LOT of police nearby… Wouldn’t you know it, the POTUS was staying at the same hotel that we were…
Now, about that hotel… The Beverly Hilton is probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. It is not because of the top of line service (which is great), or the amazing room service, but because it knows who it is. It is the center of Hollywood, the home of the Golden Globes and real Hollywood glamour.
The pool deck features the largest pool in Beverly Hills and at night the white wall surround becomes a swim-up movie theater playing California classic beach films.
The interior and exterior hallways feature stunning black and white photographs of the legends that made this town what it is.
The guest rooms are perfectly appointed with luxurious fabrics, glamorous details all without the sense of fuss, or stiffness of a luxury hotel.
Staying at the Beverly Hilton made me understand the phrase, “Beverly Hills, What a Thrill”!
