Lust List: Parker New York

Designed in New York for the cool, easy-going, downtown girl, Parker New York has caught my eye for their resort collection.  Featuring sweet dresses, silky separates and unique prints, the collection feels uniquely sourced from special, “in-the-know” boutiques.

PARKER_NYThe great thing about these pieces is that they’re real life ready while still feeling special and interchangeable within an edited wardrobe.  They could go from work to play, from French martinis to french toast.

Shop the pieces from the Parker 2014 Resort Collection.

Lust List: Torn by Ronny Kobo

Bold prints, curves for days, rich knits – a look that’s on trend and affordably attainable?  Sign me up.

Torn by Ronny Kobo has been turning out “it-girl” favorite pieces for a few years but it’s the latest collection that’s gotten my attention for its ability to stop traffic. The pieces are on trend with Kim Kardashian’s latest look and the stretch knit proves that sweater weather can mean va-va-voom.

Ladylike Leopard for Fall

The leopard trend has come a long way from Peg Bundy for this leopard trend.  Beyonce, Anna Wintour, street-style masters wear it with aplomb.  Are you intimidated by this wild streak, and don’t want to show your spots in the urban jungle?
Here are some chic ideas to make it your own.  Copy cats welcomed!

Fall Trends: Ladylike Leather for Fall

The runways for Fall 2012 featured several shows with leather clad models.  The look, while typically personifying an edgy sex kitten character was ladylike and sophisticated.  Slim shapes, flattering seams, longer hemlines offset the sleek leather for a feminine style.

Jessica Alba got an early jump on the leather trend and proved you can rock (studded!) leather in the summer and look just as flawless.

Now make the look your own, for a lot less!

What is Your Summer Style?

Tomorrow is the 4th of July!  Three cheers for fireworks, bbq’s, mini-weekends in the middle of the week and an all-American summer. What are you doing and what are you going to wear?

I spent this past weekend in Telluride, Colorado.  A beautiful town, more on that on Thursday, with a really terrific sense of style.  My trip got me thinking about what American style is, beyond Ralph and Tommy.

Which of these most closely match your all-American summer style?

P.S.  I am a mix of all of these.

White Hot Heat

For the past several weeks South Floridians, and I, have been glued to their couches watching the “white hot” Miami Heat knock off the New York Knicks, the Indiana Pacers, the Boston Celtics and finally the Oklahoma City Thunder.

A few years back, in true South Florida style, the Heat adopted a “white hot” theme and today as they celebrate their 2nd National Championship in 90 degree weather, what better to wear to celebrate the Heat than cool white?*

Layer on the metallic jewelry, add a strappy sandal and you’re ready for the hottest of Miami days (or nights).

*Non-fans can also get in on the all-white fun, it is summer after all!

Of course if you want authentic Heat gear shop here.  And to watch the parade down Biscayne click here.

Summer Sale – BCBG

I stumbled across (or rather specifically sought out) the sale at BCBG.  And wouldn’t you know I assembled quite the little wish list.

Here are my favorites – in shades of black and blue they’d work for summer and beyond.  And, while I like them all, I am particularly (completely and totally) smitten with the sparkly tuxedo tunic on the right.

Are you a sale shopper?  Maybe you’re more willing to try certain trends when you can get them for less?

Blueberry + Lime: A Summer Color Story

Colorblocking remains a hot trend for summer but one color combination has me especially intrigued.  Taking a cue from your favorite spa drinks, bright blue(berry) and vivid lime pair up for a splashy combination that is refreshingly smart and summer-ready tart.

In this case the blue is the neutral.  It is pops with a hint (or a shout) of lime.  By mixing in accessories, it is a great way to add this colorful trend without overhauling your wardrobe.  The clutch with a staple skinny and tee; the colorblock dress with a glimmering gold sandal?  All perfect execution of this fruitful trend.

What do you say, will you mix the lime with the blueberry this season?

Printed Pants – How to Wear Them

I am forever a jeans girl, but there is something really fun and playful about spring’s printed pants trend.  The look has been sported on the runway, on Beyonce and the real way.

The great thing about this trend is that it is all about making one statement.  The pants are bold and the rest of the pieces play a supporting role.  I have put together three mix-and-match outfits with pants that vary in their boldness but all of the pieces play well together.  Go crazy with prints!

A Summer in sun or shade?

I just got the May 2012 Anthropologie catalog and let me say, I swooned.  Big hair, reddish lips, soft fabrics, sun-kissed cheeks.

These are some of my favorite looks for shade and sun.
