Our house is more than 100 years old and old houses generally dictate the style they are decorated in. The house has original mantles and doors and requires a muted color palate, traditional furniture, and a more classical aesthetic. It’s lovely.
Then a few weeks ago we went to the Jonathan Adler store on Melrose. Stop. Right. There. The entire store is pricey punch of pop. It’s a kaleidoscope of color and reverie of ridiculousness.
And then it made me wish for my own big, bold, audacious color and accessories. The kind of stuff that makes your eyes pop, your heart beat a bit faster with joy, and maybe elicits a little bit of extra fun.

Here are some J.A. inspired pops that I might want to play with myself.
Does your personal style match your house? Do you know your personal style yet, or are you like me bouncing around with different ideas?
Oh yeah, my house totally matches my style and personality and I still found a way to incorporate my husband’s style too. I love my house, it’s bright and colorful and there is art everywhere. It makes me happy to open my doors and come home 🙂
